   TRIBECA
Tribeca is one of Apkujongs best nightclubs at the moment. It seems like every time you open a luxury magazine, this club is being featured. In Apkujong, clubs depend a lot on having special event parties to draw crowds. The reason is because there are so many clubs and not enough A list club goers to fill up all of them. Tribeca has been very popular with party promoters (probably due to its large capacity and central location) Many big events such as the Gucci party, the M net party etc have been thrown here, hence its popularity has grown. The crowd is very Apkujong. Most people look pretty good but whether its really fun depends on who you are with and how much booze you drank. There is plenty of room to dance and the club has a spilt level layout with high ceilings. Tribeca is near the Hak-dong (California fitness) intersection. If you turn left from the Hak-dong intersection towards California make the first right in the alley between the Coffee Bean and the Burger King. It's about 200 meters up from there.

   WOO BAR @ W HOTEL
The W hotel is the most stylish venue for a party in Seoul hands down. The Woo Bar, which is located in the lobby of the hotel, is a vast futuristic-looking venue with egg shaped chairs, blue background lighting and a silver orb DJ booth that looks like it just landed from outer space. Many stylish parties have been thrown here and it's a good place to people watch and to go on a 'celeb safari'. Daniel Henney, Dennis O, Jung Woo Sung and many others have all been spotted here. When they have special guest DJs, often they bring in extensive laser light displays and the place can get really packed. Some people have complained that parties here are static and boring with everyone posing around, but it's really up to the person to make their own fun isn't it? Alot of Korean Americans come here as well.
One big drawback is the high price of drinks. Sometimes it can be impossible to even get a bartender's attention! Also this venue is so big, it sometimes feels empty, but that is sometimes when it can be the most fun. Woo Bar isn't always happening. It better to go when there's a party on, or during the weekends.
Check the seoulstyle.com events calendar to get more info on upcoming parties.

   St.102
This Hip Hop Club is on the Sound Day circuit. They often have special parties and performances here. There are alot of Korean homies here with do-rags, dreads and baseball hats turned sideways. They're really rocking the hip-hop style here and the place seems to go off if there's a special rap performance. The walls of the venue are black and there are lights coming from behind the stage. The back wall has some graffiti on it and there a large circular multi-lighting in the middle of the dance-floor. This club is part of the Sound Day circuit.

   ONCE IN A BLUE MOON
This sexy upscale jazz venue is as smooth as the sound of the sax. Once in a Blue Moon features live jazz sets every night. Music starts around 7PM and goes on till 10 or 11:00PM. There are usually two sets from two different bands.
Once in a Blue Moon is dark and lit by blue neon and soft accent lights. The walls are a sophisticated black color and the slipcovers on the chairs are also black. The tables are adorned with elegant white linen tablecloths. Once in a Blue Moon is the kind of place that you get dressed up to go to. They won't let you through the door if you're not dressed properly. Don't expect to drink beer and soju here. This is a wine, cocktails, champange and cigar kind of place. You can also have a decent European-style dinner here. This venue is definetly not for someone on a budget. However, if you want to impress your date, this is a great place to come for a romantic evening.
Once in a Blue Moon is in an easy to find location on the big street between the Hak-Dong intersection and the Galleria intersection. It's a few meters away from California fitness in Apkujong.

   CLUB GARDEN
Club Garden is an electronica hotspot in Apkujong. Garden usually draws a big crowd due to its line-up of interesting guest DJs like Laurent Garnier, Mondo Grosso, Afrika Bambatta and Goldie. Its location right in the heart of Apkujong also makes it a convenient place for trendmeisters to convene. Garden has a similar feel to Club M2, only now south river people dont have to trek all the way to Hongdae to satisfy their need for fashion and electronica. Garden has a big dance floor and several levels. There are many hideaway sections for VIPs, a favorite being the section upstairs which overlooks the dancing area. They actually tried to do something with the interior instead of the just painting the walls black and calling it a day.

This is the official press release from Club Garden :

The club scene in Seoul has been on the rise since the late 1990s. During those early years clubbers were left waiting to see which production company would bring the next heavyweight deejay. Those days are a distant memory with the emergence of such clubs as Garden.
Located in Seoul s posh shopping district of Apkujeong, this club has broken down the myth that people do not party past mindnight south of the Han River . International deejays that have graced the decks of the club are truly impressed with the layout and design of this venue. After playing their sets most headline deejays can be found up in the lounge listening to some beats and socializing with guests.
The international talent that the club has booked has been impressive and eclectic. Not content with having one genre, Garden has pushed the boundaries of electronica styles. With acts like The Crystal Method, Ronski Speed, Myagi, Goldie, Eddie Amador, Laurent Garnier, BT, and Derrick Carter, too name but a few.
On the local front, there has been no other club in Seoul that has booked or showcased more domestic talent. In the last year, more wax has been played on their decks than any other club in Korea . Garden strives to cultivate a unique evocative experience where style merges with culture. This establishment can definitely be considered Seoul s most intimate and affluent club, offering guests an affordable and upscale venue that is equipped with two distinct sound systems.
